New Substantive Policy Statements

During the last legislative session your State Legislature passed SB1080. This Bill made new laws which expanded the scope of Acupuncturists to include Herbal Therapies and also created a new registration for acupuncture assistants.

The Arizona State Board of Acupuncture met on September 28, 2022, in part, to consider issuing Substantive Policy Statements in relation to SB1080.

The Board received input from individual licensees, acupuncture schools, the State Acupuncture Association, and others to help develop these documents.  They are posted on the State website and can be accessed by clicking here.

These policy statements are intended to provide guidance while the State works to write rules that further define and solidify how these new laws will be administered.
